Reliance Jio GigaFiber Broadband: Plans, Price and More

Expected Commercial Launch Date
Jio GigaFiber, the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service offered by Reliance Jio Infocomm which is available till now on a trial basis is being now planned to be launched commercially on August 12. The formal launch of Jio GigaFiber is believed to be happening at the annual general meeting (AGM) of Reliance Jio parent company Reliance Industries in Mumbai. Presently, Jio GigaFiber is only offering broadband services to select consumers but speculation is on the way that voice calling and IPTV would be accessible soon to the general public.

As per web reports, Jio is planning to bring a triple play plan with a validity of 28 days. This plan features unlimited voice calling and data access upto 100 GB alongside Jio Home TV Service and complimentary access to popular Jio Apps which is presently limited to some Jio employees for testing purposes.

Also, a combo plan comprising broadband, landline and TV services through a single FFTH connection under Jio GigaFiber would cost Rs. 600 per month. The prices for availing services of Jio GigaFiber could start from Rs. 500 and go over Rs. 1000. During the trial phase, the customers in the eligible cities are being offered the Jio GigaFiber preview offer by paying a refundable security deposit of Rs. 2,500 or Rs. 4,500. This charge is a security deposit for the ONT device called GigaHub Home Gateway.

The company said that they will be offering services such as entertainment, smart home IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, landline, and IPTV with high-speed Internet to its subscribers.
