New all-inclusive island resort experience launches 1 October 2026, introducing an ocean-led approach to adventure, wellness, dining and connection
SINGAPORE, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — HPL Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality management subsidiary of Singapore-listed Hotel Properties Limited (HPL), announces that it will take over the management of Holiday Inn Kandooma Resort Maldives, effective 1 October 2026. The resort will be rebranded as Kandooma Maldives, introducing a refreshed all-inclusive island experience designed around connection, discovery and the natural energy of the Maldives.
Set on a private tropical island in the South Malé Atoll, a 40-min speed boat journey from Velana International Airport at Malé, Kandooma Maldives is designed for travelers seeking an easy-going island escape, whether travelling solo, as a couple, with family across generations or with friends. With the ocean at the heart of the experience, the resort brings together active adventures, wellness, dining, local discovery and social experiences under its new positioning: Made for All.
From 1 October, the all-inclusive plan offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, selected beverages and snacks throughout the day, together with a selection of complimentary experiences designed to encourage guests to make the most of island life. The experiences include sunset splash cruise, sunrise fishing, a 30-minute spa treatment, guided reef snorkeling and guided diving.
“We are excited to welcome guests to Kandooma Maldives as we begin this new chapter.” said Andrew Drummond, the resort’s General Manager. “Building on Kandooma’s natural spirit of ocean, island and connection, our refreshed all-inclusive experience is designed to give every guest the freedom to create their own island adventure – whether through exploration, wellness, dining or simply spending time together.”
Five ways to experience Kandooma
The Kandooma experience is shaped around five distinctive Kandooma Signatures, each reflecting a different way to connect with the island.
Kandooma Blue puts the ocean at the centre of the experience, with activities ranging from surfing and diving to snorkeling and sunset cruises. It is an invitation to explore the reefs, waves and open horizons of the Maldives.
Kandooma Flow takes its cue from the natural rhythm of island life, offering opportunities for yoga, breathwork, recovery sessions and spa rituals designed to create space to slow down, restore and reconnect.
Kandooma Table brings people together through island-inspired dining, from castaway picnics and beach barbecues to sunset dinners and chef-led tastings, turning meals into shared experiences.
Kandooma Ways encourages guests to discover more of the destination beyond the shoreline, through local visits, cultural encounters, nature walks and stargazing.
Kandooma Social celebrates the social side of island life, with sunset gatherings, music, group games and campfire evenings creating an informal setting for guests to meet, connect and share the experience.
Together, the five Signatures reflect Kandooma’s approach to an island holiday – active, ocean-led and easy-going, with experiences designed for families, couples, solo travelers and groups of friends or colleagues for retreats.
A refreshed Kandooma Maldives
The management transition will be accompanied by a series of upgrades to all 146 villas and facilities, with works targeted for completion in the coming weeks. These enhancements will introduce new accommodation and social spaces while further expanding the resort’s appeal to families and multi-generational travelers.
New additions include:
- Eight Family Beach Villas, each featuring a private splash pool
- Splash pools for the two-bedroom Beach House (4 units)
- A second three-bedroom villa, with both three-bedroom villas featuring private pools
- A new Beach Club, creating an all-day social hub and a relaxed gathering space for guests of all ages, including teens
- 24-hour dining at Kandooma Café
Throughout the transition, the resorts will maintain business as usual for guests, while the ongoing enhancements are completed.
Kandooma Maldives marks Hotel Properties Limited’s eighth property in the Maldives, further strengthening the group’s presence in the destination.
